2018 Registration information

Updated Thursday January 11, 2018 by Steve Delgado.

Registration is open now for all returning and new players, this will be open through January 31st.  As of February 1, there will be a $5 late fee assessed, so I encourage you to register as soon as possible.  Coaches, you will need to register your team ($50) with the league, in addition to completing your background check and concussion certification.  This you can find as your register your self as a coach.  Teams 7u an up will receive a Dozen of the WILSON A1030 baseballs and a LCYBA score book with your line ups built in.  TBall teams will receive your LCYBA score book with line ups built in, and the league will send a ball to each game with the umpires along with the LCYBA approved JUGS Tee.  Teams are to only use the LCYBA JUGS Tee that is brought to the games by the  umpires.

The dates for the season are posted on the main page of our website, please keep those dates in mind.  For the Pre-season games March 1-4, we will schedule you for 3 games over the span of 4 days.  This is not a tournament, these are only games to help your team get a head start on the season.  There is not an entry fee, the only cost is the umpire fee that you will pay at the plate of $25 per team, per game.  If your team in interested in joining, please email me ASAP so we can reserve your spot.

As for the season, we have received the black out dates from the City of Las Cruces which means we can have the schedule out much sooner then normal.  This year we will have a split schedule of your 14 games.  This means you will play your first 7 games against all teams in your division, then we will have a week off in April to generate your remaining schedule against teams that are in your equivalent record.  Any team that has a .499 record and below will play against each other for the remainder of the season, then any teams with a record of .500 and up will play against each other for the remainder of the season.  This will help teams play against teams that are at their same level and will make the season much more enjoyable for all.

We will have on-site registrations for anyone who needs assistance registering January 20th and 27th at Dick's Sporting Goods from 6pm to 8pm on each day.  We will have a 20% off coupon to all LCYBA participants for each of those days.

As a reminder, the bat rule HAS changed this year.  LCYBA AABC will only be using the USA STAMPED bats or wood bats.  This goes for 5u TBall up to 12u, 13u and 14u will be wood bat only divisions.  These bats are for sale at Dick's Sporting Goods and at Play it Again Sports here in town.  Play it Again Sports also carries the baseball that LCYBA will allow which is the WILSON A1030.

If you have any questions please feel free to email me!  I look forward to having another great season of baseball!

See everyone soon,

Steve Delgado
